SIERDC Secures Award in DOE’s Green Energy Auction 4

San Ignacio Energy Resources Development Corporation (SIERDC) — a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Nextnorth — has successfully been awarded capacity under the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Auction Program Round 4 (GEA-4).

The Green Energy Auction Program aims to accelerate renewable energy development in the Philippines by competitively allocating capacity to qualified developers. The award strengthens SIERDC’s path toward delivering utility-scale renewable power that supports the country’s long-term decarbonization goals.

GEA-4 awarded a total of 10,195 MW of renewable energy capacity to 123 winning bidders, distributed as follows:

  • 4,179.09 MW — ground-mounted solar

  • 2,518.29 MW — on-shore wind

  • 2,284.00 MW — floating solar

  • 1,189.29 MW — IRESS

  • 24.82 MW — rooftop solar

This round marks a significant step in advancing the Philippines’ clean energy transition by expanding competitively priced renewable supply, improving energy security, and encouraging long-term infrastructure investment consistent with DOE renewable energy targets.
